The KING F-1 Finishing Whetstone #4000 is a Japanese medium-fine sharpening stone designed as the entry point into the finishing stage of knife sharpening.
This stone is positioned as the first step in the KING finishing series, bridging the gap between medium grit stones and higher polishing stones such as the S-1 (#6000) and G-1 (#8000).
The #4000 grit produces a refined and controlled cutting edge, improving sharpness while maintaining practical durability for everyday kitchen use.
Unlike higher-grit finishing stones, the F-1 focuses on functional sharpness rather than mirror polishing, making it ideal for users who want a sharp but balanced cutting edge.
This is a splash & go type whetstone that does not require soaking. Simply apply water to the surface before use and reapply water during sharpening.

=SHARPENING INSTRUCTIONS=
- The stone should be kept wet throughout the sharpening process by sprinkling with water, which acts as a lubricant on the stone.
- The knife blade should be kept at an angle of 15-20 degree on the stone.
- During sharpening, wet stone powder will appear but do not wash or wipe off this residue and continue sharpening.
- Knife blades with a double ground edge should be sharpened 50% on the front and 50% on the back.
- After sharpening, knives should be washed in hot water and dried thoroughly.
